July Fourth Celebration Pensacola FL

Pensacola takes its Independence Day celebrations seriously. Whether you find yourself downtown or on the beach for your celebration, there is plenty of fun and entertainment.

Downtown Pensacola
For the past 27 years, Sertoma clubs have been teaming up and delivering the largest firework display on the Emerald Coast. But the state of the art fireworks display is just one aspect of the event.

Old Seville Square opens up at 11 AM and plays host to a slew of vendors, live music, and activities for both kids and adults. While there are plenty of opportunities for normal eating, there will be a hot dog eating contest at noon for those who are feeling particularly hungry.

Cornell Jenkins, a Sertoma member and volunteer for the event, says it’s way more than just a typical firework celebration.

“It’s a great fun family day,” he says. “We have a lot of activities for the kids. Face painting, rock climbing, ponies, food vendors, and even a live band.”

The all-day event comes as a surprise to some that come early for the fireworks.

“People show up early to watch the fireworks and see that there was a daytime event and show interest,” says Cornell. “We have more and more people show up during the day as word gets around each year. We want it to continue to grow and keep it focused on being a family event.”

Bring your own chair and cozy up bayside for a dazzling firework display that you and your family won’t soon forget. If you have a radio handy, CatCountry 98.7 will be playing the choreographed music along with the show.

Seville Square is located at 311 E Government St, Pensacola, FL 32502. For more information, visit the event website.

Pensacola Beach
Okay, so you just can’t get enough of the beach? We don’t blame you.

Luckily, there’s a gorgeous firework display right on the Santa Rosa Sound–that’s the water opposite from the Gulf of Mexico.

Dig your toes in the sand on the soundside beach or convene behind the boardwalk for the best view of the fireworks display at 8:30 PM.

The fireworks are launched from a barge floating in the Santa Rosa Sound, so there are no pesky street lights drowning out the illuminating spectacle.

The fireworks display also marks the beginning of Pensacola Beach’s Red, White & Blues Week, which is a four-day event showcasing Pensacola’s very own Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron. For more information on the Blue Angels, check out our Blue Angels Blog.

The Pensacola Beach Boardwalk is located at 400 Quietwater Beach Rd, Pensacola Beach, FL 32561. For more information, visit the Visit Pensacola Beach website or call 850-932-2257.
